Week 14 Round 4

With LSU having the number 1 ranking in college football, the question is if they win out the remainder of their games, who will the play in the national title? As of now, Oklahoma State (who was ranked 2nd) and Oregon (who was ranked 4th) lost both of their games Saturday and are now moving down in the BCS standings. That leaves #3 Alabama (who will move to #2) to face LSU in the title if they also win out. But many are questioning who it should be.

People are saying that Alabama and LSU should not play again because in their previous meeting, LSU won the game, and that should be the end of that. Also, the number 5 team (Oklahoma) lost this weekend. That leaves Arkansas (previously #6) to possibly move up to 3rd in BCS standings. The fact is, the BCS race took a major turn this weekend, and many are questioning the title matchup.

Round 3 Week 3

Alabama and LSU recently played in what was known as the "game of the century" on Saturday night. Many considered this basically the national championship even though it was still the regular season. Which ever team would lose this game, may lose their BCS title hopes as well. This matchup was a #1 vs #2 battle. In the end, LSU pulled out the victory and defeated Alabama. Alabama also has a star running back (Trent Richardson) who has been in the Heisman race since the beginning of the year. Many were questioning if he was worthy because Alabama has not been playing quality teams. In the game, with LSU being a defensive powerhouse, Richardson combined for over 160 total yards and proved he is Heisman worthy.

In my opinion, Trent Richardson definitely deserves a spot in the Heisman voting. At this point in the season, he is doing better than Mark Ingram was doing in his Heisman-winning season. Also, with LSU pulling out the victory, they will play for the SEC championship and maybe a BCS national title. As for Alabama, they're only hope is to contend for a BCS bowl bid. If Trent Richardson keeps up this dominant play, he may very well win the Heisman.
